The Acton Difference
Acton Academy is a one-room schoolhouse built for the 21st Century.
Our Learners use the latest game based learning technologies in a self-paced environment, as well as, hands-on, real world projects and apprenticeships.
This is all delivered in a tightly bound community of lifelong learners with a focus on forging character.
At Acton our belief is that every person who enters our doors deserves to find a calling that will change the world.
Acton Academy was founded by Laura and Jeff Sandefer for their children. They wanted a better education for them and created Acton to do just that. They have succeeded in creating a scalable model that is disrupting traditional education.
A School Built for the 21st Century
Love, Best Practices, Bold Vision and Technology have culminated into developing an approach to education representative of current times. Acton provides an agile approach, allowing the latest best practices to be integrated as they are discovered.
We are not alone. There is a community of Acton Academy's around the world run by passionate people. We collectively learn and lean on each other to make sure our kids get the best support they need in THEIR hero's journey.

Finding A Calling
One of the first steps in the Hero's Journey is the "Call to Adventure." Each day our Eagles set out on a journey of deep learning and real-life experiences. They explore the lessons of history, the wonders of nature and the excitement of entrepreneurship. Through their journey, they learn about their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their passions. The overlap of their strengths and passions with an urgent real-world need is where a calling is born.
